1. Data Security and Information Handling
Mount Pleasant Baptist Church (“MPBC”) is committed to protecting the security and confidentiality of your personal information. We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards consistent with industry standards to protect personal data from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.
While MPBC takes appropriate measures to protect information transmitted through our systems, no method of electronic transmission or mobile communication can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. By participating in SMS communications, you acknowledge and accept this inherent risk.
You are responsible for safeguarding access to your mobile device and for notifying MPBC promptly if you believe your phone number or SMS communications have been compromised. MPBC is not responsible for losses resulting from unauthorized access to your mobile device.
2. Privacy Policy – Information We Collect and Use

Access to SMS-related data is limited to authorized staff or volunteers with a legitimate ministry or operational need.

SMS communications may be delivered through trusted third-party service providers solely for the purpose of transmitting messages on behalf of MPBC. These providers are not authorized to use your information for their own purposes. Personal information will only be disclosed if required by law or with your explicit consent.
5. Opt-Out Instructions
You may opt out of receiving SMS messages from MPBC at any time by replying STOP or UNSUBSCRIBE to any message you receive. Upon receipt of your request, your number will be removed from MPBC’s messaging list.
6. Changes to This Policy
MPBC may update this SMS Texting Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in church practices, technology, or legal requirements. The effective date at the top of this policy will be updated accordingly. Continued participation in SMS communications after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
