Our Mission 

The Prison Ministry serves the incarcerated and their families by preaching and teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ, providing God led mentorship, and supplying after release nurturing.

Scripture

 “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.”  ~ Matthew 25:35-36

Partners

The Prison Ministry of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church is a partner of the international organization Good News Jail and Prison Ministry, Inc. (http://www.goodnewsjail.org/).  The Good News Jail and Prison Ministry is a non-profit organization established in 1961 that provides chaplains at correctional facilities all over the world, including Northern Virginia , at no cost to the facilities or states themselves.  We also partner with local churches such as Antioch Baptist Church and Truro Church  to provide quality services for the inmates and ex-convicts.
