DOMESTIC MISSIONS:
The Domestic Missions exists to inform church members of home mission opportunities and to provide encouragement and resources for those who choose to participate in these opportunities. There is a variety of ways that Christians demonstrate God's love and bring others to faith in Jesus.
Three broad categories stand out:
Mount Pleasant Baptist prays for the local community and the world as they focus on Christian missionaries and the people of specific domestic regions. An annual mission offering provides financial resources that fund mission activities around the Washington, DC metro area to include our friends in North and South Carolina. Church members of all ages and backgrounds are encouraged to volunteer for mission activities. Volunteers may work with at-risk youths through a local Christian agency, with inmates in correctional facilities, or with people of various ethnicities and languages locally or in other states or countries. Volunteers may serve individually or as part of a group, occasionally or for long-term assignments. Tutoring, singing, preaching, providing professional services, serving meals, repairing a home, or just providing a listening ear are among the many ways volunteers serve.
