CHILDREN AND YOUTH MINISTRY
The success of the children and youth ministry depends on a team working together to continue to grow children, teens, parents and adult leaders both spiritually as well as personally.
At Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church we want the C&Y ministry to focus on outreach and evangelism in 2005. Our purpose is to pursue and reflect the C&Y Five Fold purpose; evangelism, worship, fellowship, discipleship, and ministry. This ultimately means we want to continuously pursue and conform to the purposes that were commanded by Jesus and manifested in the early church, the Great Commandment and the Great Commission in Matthew 22:37-40 and Matthew 28: 19-20 respectfully. All five purposes can be divided into five categories with all of them being important.
Our C&Y purpose thus establishes the foundation from which we can become a more purpose driven ministry in every respect. Most children and youth, especially, the un-churched, do not identify with words like evangelism, discipleship, and worship. We want all children and youth to understand and participate actively in this ministry and we want to continue to communicate the purposes with words that children and youth can more easily embrace. Therefore, we want to encourage our children & youth at M.P.B.C. to learn the purpose statement through the words listed below:
Care is our word for Fellowship (F)
Reach is our word for Evangelism (E)
Offer is our word for Worship (W)
Share is our word for Discipleship (W)
Service is our word for Ministry (M)
At MPBC, our, children and youth ministry will continue to be driven by our purpose statement.
