Jerome Lee Biography
Dr. Jerome O. Lee was born in Chicago, Illinois. He completed his early education in Chicago. He received his B.A. Degree in Religion and Christian Education from Bishop College in Dallas, Texas. He received the Master of Divinity Degree 1982 and the Doctorate of Ministry Degree from the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University in Richmond, Virginia.
Dr. Lee has served as a member of the Christian Education Leadership Teaching Team for the Baptist General Convention of Virginia. He has served as an Instructor for the Evans-Smith Leadership Institute sponsored by the Baptist General Convention of Virginia and the Samuel D. Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University. Presently, Dr. Lee is a core faculty member of the Virginia University of Lynchburg in Lynchburg, Virginia. He has also served as the president and is currently the Vice-president of the African-American Fellowship of the Baptist General Association of Virginia/Southern Baptist Convention.
Dr. Lee is associated with the Baptist General Convention of Virginia, the Baptist General Association of Virginia, the Greater Richmond Baptist Association, the Minister's Conference of Richmond and Vicinity, and XI Delta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated.
Dr. Lee served as the pastor of the following churches: Pleasant Plain Baptist Church in Drewryville, Virginia. For fourteen years, he ministered as the pastor of the Spring Creek Baptist Church in Midlothian, Virginia. Under his leadership, Spring Creek Baptist Church grew both spiritually and numerically.
Dr. Lee has served on evangelistic mission teams in Jamaica, The Czech Republic, Liberia and Trinidad.
In 1999, Dr. Lee became the founder and pastor of the New Life Baptist Church in Midlothian, Virginia, 8700 Baldwin Creek Road, Chesterfield, Virginia 23832.
Dr. Lee is married to the former Andrea Y. White. They have one daughter, Jasmine Tyler.
