DESCRIPTION OF CURRENT PTF ACTIVITIES

Applebee’s Breakfast—The PTF donates time and effort for a fall and spring pancake breakfast fundraiser. Parents and teachers help serve our friends and customers.

Box Tops Program— With Box Tops, you can support our school with everyday activities like buying groceries. Just clip Box Tops coupons from hundreds of General Mills products found throughout your local grocery store. Drop off your box tops to the Academy. Our school can earn $ .10 for each box top submitted. For a complete list of products offered and other earning or saving opportunities under the box top program visit www.boxtops4education.com

Career Day—The PTF is sponsoring a speaker once per month throughout the school year to talk with the students about their careers. Speakers range from firefighters, pilots, hotel managers, ministers, trainers, caterers, etc., and will provide positive role models for the children regarding their growth and development aspirations.

End of Year Celebration—The PTF organizes and sponsors the Academy end-of-year celebration. This is a festive and fun gathering for all Academy families.

Fundraisers: Throughout the year, the PTF decides on various fundraisers to hold, from selling gourmet goodies to fruits, to cards and candles. It varies from year to year.

Grocery Store Points Bonus Program-- The Academy is signed up at several local grocery stores to receive cash back from your spending when you present your bonus card upon paying for your purchase. The Academy receives a check at the end of the school year.

Holiday Luncheon—The PTF sponsors a Holiday Luncheon each fall. We fellowship with one another and give thanks to God for the blessings He has bestowed on us.

Scrips! ProgramScrips! are used just like money at over 100 stores, restaurants & gas stations (Best Buy, Red Lobster, Giant, Lowe’s, Dick’s, Sheetz, CVS, etc.). Participating retailers sell gift certificates to the Academy at a discount. You buy Scrips! at full face value and redeem them for full face value and the Academy keeps the difference as revenue.

Teacher Appreciation—The PTF sponsors several activities throughout the year to show our appreciation to the Academy teachers and staff.

Tee Shirt Sale—The PTF is organizing the 2006-2007 tee shirt sale for the Academy students to wear on PhysEd (PE) days, dress down Fridays, and all Academy field trips.

Uniform Exchange—Each year the Academy parents donate uniforms that are no longer needed for their child. The uniforms in good condition are “recycled”, and at the beginning of the next school year, the PTF sells them to parents for a fraction of the cost.

Yearbook Committee—Families compile photos from various events and activities and put it all together in a family-friendly format for future memories.
